An Item Label provides Admins and Employees the ability to quickly discern the attributes of an Item. Item Labels are created automatically in these scenarios:

  • Item Onboarding: When Item(s) are successfully onboarded, one PDF is created for that specific Onboarding request. If 10 Items are Onboarded at once, the file would contain 10 different labels.
  • Item Acceptance: When Item(s) are successfully accepted, one PDF is created for that specific accepting request. If 8 Items are accepted at once, the file would contain 8 different labels.

Since the Labels are processed in batches, they can also be printed in batches. To print a Label, simply click either the Name or the download icon within the Label table and the PDF will open in a separate tab.

QR Code

Within every Item Label, a QR code acts as a gateway to the item’s Reference ID, which is a unique identifier that ties the physical item to its digital information on our platform. The QR code’s primary function is to ensure quick and accurate handling of Items during various business operations:

  • Point of Sale Transactions: At the checkout, staff can scan the QR code using Shopify POS to instantly pull up the item’s details. This guarantees that the sale is associated with the right item, particularly helpful in busy retail environments where speed is of the essence.
  • Web Transactions: For online orders, the QR code provides a quick reference tool for staff to ensure they are picking and packing the correct item for shipment. The QR code within the Label is the Item’s Reference ID. Using the QR code is mainly for Shopify POS sales as we process the correct Item for Web orders.
  • Returns and Exchanges: Handling returns or exchanges is streamlined as the QR code instantly accesses the item’s history and reference ID, allowing for a smooth transaction.

Design

Item Labels provide the following attributes for an Item:

  • Product Title
  • Product SKU
  • Item’s Condition
  • Item’s Reference ID
  • Item’s Size
  • Store Name
  • Ownership

If an Item is consigner owned, it’ll display their name instead of the Store text.

Printing

The Label size is 1 ⅛ inches (height) x 3 ½ inches (width). DYMO supports this label size and they’re recommended.
