Admins and Employees can select the Seller Tier for a Consigner. The main attributes of a Tier are:
Sale Fee: This value is a percentage that represents the fee a Consigner is charged per sale. For example, if a Consigner’s Item sells for $200 and their fee is 15%, their Sale Fee would be $30.
Minimum Fee: This value is a dollar amount (cents supported) that represents the minimum fee a Consigner will be charged per sale. If the fee amount based on the Sale Fee value is less than the Minimum Fee, the Minimum Fee value is deducted from the sale. For example, if the Sale Fee is 10% and the Minimum Fee is $15, any sale that is $150 or below would be charged the Minimum Fee.
Here are a few examples regarding the Fee types:
Item Number
Sale Price
Sale Fee
Minimum Fee
Fee Type Precedent
Total Fee
1
$410
10%
$25
Sale Fee
$41.00
2

5%
$30
Minimum Fee
$30.00
Item Number 1 sold for $410 and the Sale Fee ($41.00) is greater than the Minimum Fee ($25.00), the Sale Fee takes precedence for the sale.
Item Number 2 sold for $410 and the Sale Fee ($20.50) is less than the Minimum Fee ($30.00), the Minimum Fee takes precedence for the sale.
Tiers can be created by both Admins and Employees. Click the Create Tier button from within the table, and a modal will appear. Once successfully created, it can now be assigned to Consigners.
The Default Tier is the Tier that will be assigned automatically to Consigners upon signing up. The creation of the Default Tier is handled during onboarding, and the values of a Default Tier can be updated after the fact, as shown above.
If a Tier’s Sale Fee or Minimum Fee attributes are updated, the Consigners belonging to that Tier will have their Item’s payout amount adjusted across Bind and Shopify to update the calculated profit values to account for the change in fee.
